Essential Question: How does repetition affect an artwork?
1. Research
1. Take a look at the Roman and Islamic mosaics above. Notice that the overall image is comprised of small, straightedged ceramic tile. Put together, these ceramic pieces depicted a person, animal or pattern.
2. Look below at some student examples of a digital mosaic. We will be transforming a picture of an animal into a "puzzle" of solid colored pieces. What tools might we use in photoshop to achieve this style?
